Hall of Fame
                
    Barnette was inducted into the Golden Eagle Sports Hall of Fame in 2010. He played baseball for two years and graduated in 1955 from Morris Harvey College.
After graduation, Barnette spent 50 years in the field of education and has been employed by nine county school systems as a coach, teacher and administrator. During those years, he coached baseball, football and basketball. His teams held a winning percentage of 68%.
He was instrumental in bridging the gap between former Morris Harvey athletes and UC. His knowledge earned him the title as an ‘Unofficial Historian’ of UC/MHC athletics.
