Anania Jr. was inducted into the Golden Eagle Sports Hall of Fame in 1985. 

During his time playing football he earned a letter for all four years (1948-51). Anania Jr. was named All WVIAC in his 1951 senior season and WV Centennial Sports Great.  

The quarterback played in two postseason bowl games, the Tangerine Bowl in 1950 and Burley Bowl in 1951.  The 1950 Golden Eagle team would be unofficially named the Small College National Champion following the Tangerine Bowl victory over Emory & Henry.  Anania Jr. would be named MVP of the Tangerine Bowl.  Anania Jr. would finish his career with 41 passing touchdowns and claim two WVIAC titles.
