Hall of Fame
Carr, a 1954 graduate of Morris Harvey College, was inducted into the Golden Eagle Sports Hall of Fame in 1986. During his time at Morris Harvey he played football, basketball and baseball.Â
In football he was a four-year letter winner, MVP at the Elk's Bowl in 1953, and All-WVIAC in his 1954 senior season. Â
Jim Carr would go on to play for the Chicago Cardinals, Baltimore Colts, Philadelphia Eagles (Played on the ’60 NFL Championship team), traded to the Washington Redskins along with Sonny Jurgensen. After his playing career, Carr became defensive backs coach for Minnesota Vikings 1967, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49’ers 1978, New England 1985 and Atlanta Falcons (coached Deion Sanders). Defensive coordinator in the World Football League (Amsterdam).

In basketball he lettered for two seasons and in baseball he lettered for three seasons.
