Hall of Fame
Claude 'Hopper' Dent, a 1952 Morris Harvey College graduate, was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1993.
Dent was a four-year starter at guard and place kicker for the Golden Eagle football team in the late 1940's and early 50's, never missing a game in his four seasons.
He played in the Tangerine Bowl, the Burly Bowl and was a three-time WVIAC Champion. The 1950 team went undefeated and was named the Small College National Champion following their victory over Emory and Henry in the Tangerine Bowl.
