A three-year letterwinner for the Golden Eagles, Xavier Humphrey left a lasting impact on UC basketball during one of the program’s most memorable eras. Known for his ability to step up in big moments, Humphrey helped lead Charleston to its first-ever Mountain East Conference Basketball Championship. His play during that postseason earned him a spot on the 2014 MEC All-Tournament Team, where his scoring and leadership were pivotal in pushing UC to the top.
The 2013–14 season became a defining chapter in his career. Humphrey was recognized as a First Team All-MEC selection, earned NABC First Team Atlantic All-District honors, and represented the Golden Eagles in the prestigious Reese’s NABC Division II All-Star Game. He capped the year with All American recognition, a reflection of his standing among the best players in the country.
Across his career, Humphrey scored 1,044 points, joining UC’s 1,000-point club and solidifying his place among the program’s most prolific scorers. He ranks ninth all-time in three-pointers made with 168, and his 86 made threes during the 2013–14 campaign stand as one of the top single-season marks in school history. That same year, he was honored three times as MEC Athlete of the Week, highlighting his consistency and ability to take over games.
